2. God reveals Himself clearest at the moment of deepest despair (God is with Jacob) 
 

A. (32:7) “Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed.”

B. (vv.9-12) Jacob humbles himself before God and rests on God’s promises

3. God meets us in our weakness (He matches Jacob’s strength/persistence)

4. God changes you forever (He changes Jacob’s name is Israel; v. 28)
